The Cellar Homebrew :: Brewing :: Fermentation Equipment :: Primary Fermentors and Spigots
Primary fermentors require a larger volume than the final batch size, to accomodate the foamy krausen formed during active fermentation. A 6 or 6 1/2 gallon capacity is recommended for a 5 gallon batch of beer. For larger batches, find higher capacity fermentors on our winemakers pages.
