  06-595 GERMAN KÖLSCH: “Greenwood Gold”
GERMAN KÖLSCH: “Greenwood Gold”  Kölsch is a light, clean, and delicately balanced ale brewed in the Cologne region of Germany. In fact, kölsch is a word used to describe something from Cologne. It is one of the newest beer styles, having been brewed for less than a century. The Kölsch Konvention of 1986, signed by the German government and twenty-two Cologne brewers, gives kölsch an appellation of its’ own, and can only be brewed in their region. These brewers produce a golden ale that balances pale malts and subtle noble hops, all framed by a clean crisp body and taste imparted by a lagering process. Cool fermentation with the true kölsch yeast and cold lagering will produce a beer that tastes and drinks like a clean light lager; another choice for Summer refreshment. 1.037-1.042 O.G.
